Deaf People of Color Conference
Hola Gente!!
I had the opportunity to attend the National Council of Hispano Deaf & Hard of Hearing Conference in Chicago this past May. At the conference I was able to meet some amazing people and Elena Ruiz was one of them. She is a Deaf Xicana from Northern California who was working as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She is Currently getting ready to do her Masters and we wish her the best on her Journey.
Elena attended the Deaf People of Color conference this past June and she was able to do a video on her experience at the conference. Thanks Elena for sharing this with all of us. It looked like the conference was amazing :) I'm sure there were plenty of inspirational people just like Elena at the conference. It makes me happy and excited to know that the community is coming together to discuss issues that are way over due. Let's continue in this journey to equality and empowerment.
Si Se Puede!!
